Make Money Tips – Recommendations and What to Avoid

Posted by cremedwheat on Sunday, 27 September, 2009

This is an excerpt from an email I recently sent to an email subscriber which was too good not to share so I’ve posted it here for everyone to see for themselves.

I understand your wish to make some additional income via the internet and in the comfort of your own home. I’m about to retire from the Canadian federal government and its also my wish to make a very comfortable living online. I’ve only gotten serious about it over the last 6 months and it’s been a real eye-opener about the stuff which I’ve learned online. I’m making money online but not near as much as I want to, and I am certain that I will succeed in my goals by the new year and I’ll tell you why at the end of this email. J

Okay, now I will tell you without getting into too many details what I’ve learned online  over the last 6 months. I’ve learned that I absolutely hate “fluff”! If you’re anything like myself, I am sure that you’ve been checking out all the different online opportunities to make an income online. You’ve probably bought some products, some of which are basically the same products that others are selling but with a different name; some that may have possibilities but many of them are basically garbage. Taking an educated guess, about 98% of the marketers are getting people to buy their products by getting them so excited in the next best thing, that they hit the “Order Now” button because it’s a time-limited opportunity. Sure some of them are time-limited but that’s just a method they use to lure us into buying their products when we would all be better off doing some research first. I’m sure that if we wait a few hours or another day, most times we would not make the purchase. The trick is to separate the fluff from the actual content and base our decisions on what is being offered. Its also a good idea to google the products and see what else is out there and how many people are selling the product and whether there are any complaints. If it’s a clickbank product, then check out the Clickbank site and find out more about the product and how hot it is. If the product looks like a hot product which can make some money, you would be better off signing up as an affiliate and selling the product instead of buying it. If you are interested in selling the product, contact the seller and express your interest in selling it as an affiliate and ask for a free copy. A lot of sellers will honour this request and will send you a copy of it. Another piece of advice here, if you buy a product via Clickbank, they all include a 60 Day 100% Money Back Guarantee. Even a lot of other products include 30 or 60 day guarantees, so if you’re not satisfied with the product, ask for your money back! I’ve done so many times and my refund requests have always been honoured. I will admit, that at times I’ve purchased too many products and did not have the time to take a look at some of them so I requested refunds before the guarantee expired.

I’m not saying that all of these products are bad, but there are a lot of variables that will determine your success such as determination, knowledge, time, money, product quality, market saturation, market competition, etc. Another problem is that most of these ebooks, websites, training packages, videos, etc just don’t include all the required information and support needed to succeed. I’ve purchased several “websites in a box” so to speak, but once they are up and running, then I have little or  no support and have to learn how to get people to find my site, convince them to buy the product and then make the sale. If you don’t know how to optimize your website and how to send traffic to your site, then you will fail to make any money. You need to learn all of this or find someone to do it for you, which will cost you much more than you will want to spend. Of course, you can teach yourself how to do it all, but that takes time and then you won’t know if you have made mistakes which will cost you money.

I bet that you also belong to too many email lists. If you’re anything like myself, you’ve checked out a lot of different products, and even purchased as few of them. There are marketers sending you to their latest offers, or their “friends” or joint venture partners to check out the hottest and latest products and if you do so by midnight tonight, you can download some great free products. Okay, so you go and visit their website, and after clicking “No Thanks” on several different pages you end up on the page with the free downloads. But guess what, sure, there can be dozens of free downloads, but most of the time you are linked to a partners website and have to signup to his email list and negotiate thru several more offers before you get your free download. My advice, signup for the freebies, download the products and then immediately remove yourself from their lists. And if you belong to too many email lists now, they will be a distraction from your real purpose, and that’s too make money online! Remove yourself from all the lists which do not include any value! If you spend too much time reading emails and checking out the “Latest and Greatest” then you will not succeed! It’s my own conspiracy theory, that the online gurus and those whom they have trained have planned it all out to keep us unfocused and pad their bank accounts while we get no where fast. If you wish to succeed Estelle, then you need to organize and focus on what you want to accomplish, set your goals and plan on how you want to achieve them. I do recommend that remain on those lists which do give value and from whom you have purchased products.

Regarding PluginProfits, its was very appealing to me when I signed up for it. It’s a good idea, but the only program which has value is GDI. GDI is a great success story and the only program in which I remain as a paying member. I will admit that Lawn Chair Millionaire has possibilities, as well as SFI and perhaps the others, but I don’t have the time to promote those programs and I am not really interested in these types of businesses anyways. I want something that I believe in and when it’s up and running will keep earning income whether I’m at home or out on the golf course. Also, PluginProfits added real value for me at the beginning due to the fact that Stone Evans did include a step-by-step tutorial (21 days to success I think it was?) which I found very useful as a learning tool. However, I’ve moved on from there and I am trying more advanced opportunities which will provide more opportunities for success and a much higher income. On my site http://www.makemoneyautomagically.com I’ve already removed SFI and LCM from the site and will be updating it to remove those programs that I do not believe in, but have not put aside the time to do it yet. I’ll also be removing Stone Evans’ article from the site and replacing it with my own article. It’s for you to decide whether you think PluginProfits is what you want, but my recommendation (yeah, I will lose money here hehee) is to take the month, learn all that you can from it, and then cancel it. GDI, I do recommend keeping it, but only if you believe in it and think you can make money from it. PluginProfits is an excellent money-maker for the owners of the site because its setup for them to make money not only via your signup for PluginProfits, but also via the web hosting as well as the various programs which they ask you to signup for as part of the package. For those who know what they are doing you can make money, for someone new to the game its very hard to do.

Now the keys to success are the following. You need a product that is in demand and a website that is optimized for your product. You also need a good sales pitch (hopefully without too much fluff) and a professional looking website. You also need to submit your site to the search engines. You can do this yourself, or hire someone else to do it for you. There are many free services that will do it for you, and lots that will do it for a fee. You’ll also need an autoresponder for your mailing list and then you will need traffic. You can use PPC (Pay per Click) but if you do not know what you’re doing, then you will lose money. I’ve started using Wpromote (who is at the top of the food chain) http://www.wpromote.com/affiliates/idevaffiliate.php?id=3802 and they are doing an excellent job thus far. They optimized my website with my keywords (which they selected for me), and are running my Adwords campaign for a very reasonable price. Since they are Google and Yahoo certified they know what they’re doing and I don’t know for certain, but I bet they pay a lot less per click than what I would need to pay. I am very happy with their product and have already stopped my own PPC campaigns because theirs are performing much better. Once your site is receiving traffic, then it will be noticed by Alexa and the major search engines and over time, you will begin receiving free organic traffic. Once you begin receiving organic traffic, that’s when profits will begin to soar. You’ll also need to create links by posting articles in the ezines and by posting messages in blogs, forums etc. containing links pointing back to your website. The more links the better since the search engines love original content, and links are a barometer of the importance of your site.

Now, here comes the most important information.

You’ve been probably asking yourself the same question I’ve been asking all along. “What do I need to do to succeed?” I think I finally found the answer, even though it was staring in the me face all along, but I did not recognize it for what it was. Oh, suppose I knew the answer, but didn’t believe that it would make a difference and failed to focus on it and do it the right way at the beginning. I like to believe that I’m an optimist, and I am surely that. The last 6 months were not wasted because I learned a lot and it makes me appreciate that I am making an income online and will soon make a very good income. The secret? Training! I’ve found someone, or rather they found me, who has a good reputation in the training business and who guarantees your success or your money back. Yipee! lol Sure, it’s not cheap, but they will train you, help you choose your niche, setup your website, optimize the website, send traffic to your website and will remain with you until you’re making money or they will refund the costs of the training. The training consists of one-on-one coaching with your own personal trainer who will basically hold your hand while you learn all you need to get your website up and running and making money. It consists of online tutorials, videos and dozens of hours of telephone training.  I have to guarantee to them that I am committed to putting aside enough time each week for the training which is expected to take 2-3 months. They are very flexible about scheduling times but I am expected to try and spend at least 10 hours each week on the program. They will actually do all of the work setting up your website and they will send the traffic to your website so you can begin making money while the training is ongoing. I begin my training next Tuesday and I am very excited about it.  I’ll be certain to let you know the results.

Now, they do not take referrals as far as I know, and they do not have a website for just anyone to visit and signup for their program. They choose their students via several of the top guns on the internet when you signup for certain programs. I was contacted by the training company when I signed up for one of Chris Cobb’s opportunities here: http://www.ais-system.com which provides training via DVD shipped to your home email address. Chris Cobb is one of the owners of the company which provides this training and they have several physical locations around the globe. I suggest that you signup for the free (just pay for shipping) month’s training DVD. There is a reasonable monthly charge after the first month which can be cancelled at any time. You’ll need to decide if you’re willing to pay their price but I am certain that it’s worth it. I will be able to attest to that fact in about 3 months time. If you are also interested in the personal training which I just signed up for, then you will just have to hope that they will select you as a candidate. Good luck!

I have lots more that I can tell you, but I think this email is already long enough and I’ve got some other things to do. Take care Estelle and I hope that you can use this info to assist you in your future endeavours. Remember to stay focused, determined, and to set goals and I know you will succeed!

Online Marketing Tips for Newbies

Posted by cremedwheat on Saturday, 12 September, 2009

When I first began to educate myself in online marketing, especially affiliate marketing, I was totally overwhelmed by the amount of information available. I wanted to know everything I could, subscribed to so many email lists, bought so many products that I could not get anything done.

I bought products about marketing, Search Engine Optimization, PPC, eBooks, copy this, copy that, do this, do that, that I ended up with over 5GBs of products which would have taken me years to read. I purchased software products downloaded ton of “bonus” products offered by Joint Venture partners that I ended up on so may email lists that before I could do anything at all productive that I spent hours each day sorting and deleting emails. I found out that most products were about 90% “fluff” and 10% real content. A lot of these products were basically variations of the same material which I had already purchased and ended up with a lot of duplication. I decided that I needed to do something and do it fast because I was getting absolutely no where!

I decide to try and see through all the “fluff” and pick and choose the most promising products, eliminate the duplicated products and try to get refunds. Thanks to ClickBank’s 60-day guarantee I was able to return a couple thousand dollars back to my credit card. One thing did impress me, every single one of the refund requests were honoured.

Next, I had to sort through the 100 or so email lists I belonged to and go through the tedious process of unsubscribing from those marketers who I thought offered inferior products, or were offering the same products as some of their buddies were offering. I also removed a few of them who just plain sent way too many emails every day which was very annoying!

Once I was able to eliminate a lot of the information overload I focused on setting up a routine and following it as best that I could. My inbox is much cleaner now and I receive emails only from those marketers who send quality information and don’t spam me with too many emails. I have actually now read a lot of the products which I have purchased although there are a few which I still want to read so badly but have not have the time yet. I’ve also deleted a lot of the duplicate product material or the material that I had refunded, so my virus scan is much happier too. :-)

Even over this period of time, with all the information overload, I was busy setting up several websites and marketing different products while learning the ins and outs of the business. it was not a total loss, but at least now I do have the time to focus a lot more time on my ongoing ventures while continuing my education.

There is so much more that I want to say in this article, but I think it will need to wait until another time. I always look at the optimistic side of things and although this is a competitive and cutthroat niche (affiliate marketing), what I have learned has made a much better marketer in the smaller and less competitive niches.

Although I am not a “guru” nor a super-affiliate, I’ve learned a lot and I am succeeding without all the “fluff” which I hate with a passion. Although its a work-in-progress and requires several changes, I hope to have a great “no-fluff” website developed for those of a like mind.

Warmest Regards,

- Richard Gray

More Find Money-Making Tips and Ideas

Posted by cremedwheat on Saturday, 12 September, 2009

As I mentioned earlier, you will need to learn how to market online by doing some research. I would not suggest jumping in right away because this will cause you more expenses, and disappointment when you realize you’re doing something wrong and don’t really have a clue what you’re doing. As well as googling search engines for information, I highly advise visiting the Warrior Forum http://www.warriorforum.com/for not only possible opportunities, but you will receive excellent info regarding the information you need to begin marketing online. This forum is made up of many online marketers, both new and experienced so there is a wealth of experience there for you to learn the ropes. Read the posts and and don’t be shy, post your questions if you have them and someone will reply. But first, you really should do your research online and spend some time reading the posts in the forum before doing so. Build some relationships in this forum and hopefully you will find someone who will teach you which will save a lot of heartache. Be prudent and don`t jump at every opportunity, and do your homework.

A mentor, this is what everyone needs in order to avoid the pitfalls of marketing online. If you are lucky you will find yourself a mentor which will not only speed up the learning curve, but it will save you money and allow you to begin earning a substantial income much sooner. Now don’t get me wrong, probably 95% of people who try online marketing fail at it, lose money and give up because its not as easy as you are led to believe. You must be determined, organized, be able to educate yourself. Also, as mentioned earlier, find a mentor to show you the ropes should guarantee that you will succeed.

Now, I will warn you, there are a lot of marketers out there who are provide much better fluff that a good product. A lot of the products are actually the same product, but re-branded and revised with a different name so that the marketers can claim them as their own. These are mostly known as PLR products (Public Label Rights) which allow the purchaser to brand them, sell them; give them away, etc. Each product will include a license which will provide the details of what you are allowed to do with each PLR product. Anyways, enough about that, you`ll surely find out all about PLR as you do your research.

Speaking of “fluff” I am sure that after a couple of weeks you will know exactly what I mean! 99% of the products out there that will teach you how to make an income online, or reveals the latest “secrets” of this or that will be 90% fluff, and only about 10% useful information. A lot these so-called “gurus” and guru wannabes do make millions online, but their biggest secrets they keep to themselves or only share with a select few. You’ll find out that they all share only bits and pieces of how to succeed online so you’ll have your work cut out for you while doing your research. However, there are a select few who truly seem to care, who really appear to want you to succeed online and they are the one whom you will want to learn from. Remember, most of what you see online is mostly fluff. some of these guys are so good at marketing their products that they could convince you that the old lady next door looks good in a bikini! lol So, you will need to “see thru” all the fluff and analyse the product for what it truly is. It will be hard to do at first since you likely know very little about online marketing but its possible. also, the Warrior Forum does offer some good reviews (or bad) for you to evaluate a lot of these products. and always remember, almost all of these guys do offer a 100% money-back guarantee and almost all of them are very good and quick at returning your funds if you ask for it. So at least in that respect, if you don’t like the info you purchased, or its the same info but with a different name, you can request a full refund. I’ve been there and done that and only had one bad experience which I’ll evaluate in a later blog.

So, to sum up today’s post, investigate, evaluate, visit some of the online forums, use the search engines to check out products; find yourself a mentor and don’t be afraid to try a few products so long as as they offer you a refund if not satisfied.

My next post, I’ll talk about what you should look for, what will be required to get up and going and the estimated costs.

Warmest regards,

-Richard Gray

Find Money-Making Online Opportunities

Posted by cremedwheat on Saturday, 12 September, 2009

Well, I`m back from vacation and I have so much to catch up on. I`ll do my best to post to my blog every day until I catch up to “real time”. This is a fairly large subject so it will take a few days to post all the info which I am hoping to include.

Okay, the first thing you need to do is do is to prepare for your research. What exactly is it that you want to accomplish? Do you want to make a little extra money online to compliment your current income or is your plan to make it a fulltime business? Whichever way you choose, you will still be required to follow the same steps. Perhaps you are interested in dieting products, or perhaps its golfing or vacations. Whichever product you find may wish to market, you will still need to follow the same steps. You would be wise to learn how to choose a product, how to market the product and how much it will cost you to do so before choosing your product. Online marketing is very competetive so you will not want to enter a market in which you will be competing against experienced and talented marketers while you don`t know what you are doing. If you are not fully committed and determined you`ll give up without ever giving it a chance to succeed.

So, what do you need to do first? Research! Its also very important, and I cannot stress this part, to be organized from the very beginning. Once you begin doing your research you will want to create folders in your email program, Internet Favorites and in your “Documents” folders and organize the information which you collect. When I first researched online opportunities I just filed away everything in the same folders and then it was almost impossible to locate anything. Don’t make that mistake and be sure to create folders identifying your information. You may need to create several dozen folders, which seems a lot, but believe me, it will streamline everything for you. You will understand once you have been researching for several days. As an example, your emails folders and favorite links should include such topics as products, offers, emails lists, advertising, etc. Some of these folders should then be broken down and include subfolders. A good example would be your advertising folder since there are many different methods to advertise your product once you begin actively marketing or selling your products. The sub-folders should include names such as PPC (Pay Per click) Autoresponders, Ezines, Directories, Classifieds, etc, etc. You’ll need to keep this in mind as your do your research and file away the information which you deem important enough to save, or which you want to further research at a later time.

So, where do you begin the research? First off, you cannot sell a product if you don’t have one, and you cannot sell even a good product if you don’t know how to do so. Search engines are as good of a place as any, so go to http://www.google.com/ or http://www.yahoo.com/ or http://www.bing.com/ or your favorite search engine and type any of the keywords “online business, work at home, home based business,” or any other keywords you can think of and do a keyword search. Play with it and see what results you can get.

So, how can you tell the good results from the scams? As a rule a legitimate online opportunity, internet marketing opportunity or home based business opportunity will have a fairly good looking website and most importantly, they will offer a “MONEY BACK GUARANTEE”! Yes, its true that almost all of the legit websites offer your money back if not completely satisifed, and with no questions asked. I’ll cover this in a later posting so you will understand how important this might be for you and how it can benefit you. An example of an excellent and legitimate website is Maverick Money Makers which can be found in the link shown below. This is actually the top selling opportunity for online marketers who wish to learn all the ins and outs of online marketing. Its an excellent website with hundreds of hours of videos and other info available to members. Don’t be afraid to take a look, and remember, there is a 60 Day money back guarantee. http://golfngold.maverick66.hop.clickbank.net/
